THE CONTINUATION OF THE STATE COMMANDANT’S TOUR/VISIT OF THE OGUN AREA COMMANDS @ ILARO AREA COMMAND, ITS COMPONENT DIVISIONAL OFFICES AND STAKEHOLDERS ON THURSDAY, JUNE 2, 2022.

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant Kolawole Taiwo, toured the Ilaro Area Command, its divisional offices and stakeholders within the area command on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

In press statement E-signed and released by the NSCDC State PRO, Dyke Ogbonaya, who noted that they had a stop over at the palace of HRH. (Oba) Daniel Abayomi Salako, the Aboro of Iboroland, Ogun State.

The Royal Father appreciated the State Commandant and his team for the visit while also reiterating his intention to improve the security situation within his domain by bringing people-centred services especially the ones that have to do with security and protection of lives and property.

According to the statement, the Aboro of Iboroland, said the construction of the Divisional Command Headquarters in Iboroland which is nearing completion is one of his dream projects aimed at bringing security closer to the people of the community.

As an agrarian community, the Aboro of Iboroland stated that the people of the community and their neighbouring and adjoining communities need a steady security measure to curtail the excesses of the criminal herdsmen roaming the various communities in the Yewa axis of the State.

The visitation to the Ilaro Area Command by the State Commandant was extended to HRH.Oba (Rotarian) Lukman Olalekan Adeleke Kuoye, the Olu of Imasayiland.

The astute Sociologist and Social Worker Royal Father went down memory lane in the area of his contributions to the Nigerian project before the call by his people to come ascend the throne on August, 2021.

The Olu of Imasayiland also appreciated the State Commandant and his team and requested the State Commandant to give more support and assistance towards improving the already existing cordial relationship between the community and the security agencies.

He showered encomiums on the activities of the Civil Defence personnel in his domain while also seeking for increase in the number of deployment of officers to the various communities in the local government area.

In the same vein, the State Commandant’s team was at the office of Executive Chairman, Yewa South Local Government Area, Ogun State, Hon. Lateef Adebayo Salami. The Chairman who was joined by other members of his management team thanked and appreciated the State Commandant and his entourage.

He also openly mentioned the dexterous ity to work by the personnel of the Corps within the local government area and the humility and professionalism at which their functions are being executed by all officers within the communities.

The State Commandant promised to look critically into the various demands of the Royal Fathers and that of the local government Chairman.

At the Area Command, the State Commandant addressed his officers and men and told them to always work assiduously with other sister security agencies in harmony.

He also added that the essence of synergy and collaboration amongst security agencies cannot be overemphasized especially with the recent security challenges ravaging the country.

He advised the other security agencies at the gathering to always see security as a common function of all and a project that requires the attention of every security agency for the betterment of the nation.

Furthermore, Commandant Taiwo noted that humility, excellence in service and professionalism are key tenets of all officers and men of the Corps. He advised them to avoid being overzealous and to remain steadfast especially during the upcoming elections. He also added that the security agencies are always non-partisan in the electioneering processes while rendering their national assignments.

While concluding his address, Commandant Taiwo noted that he would always come around to check on the progress made by the Area Command and its component divisions across the Yewa axis of the State.
