GRASSROOT PROTECTION AND PROLIFERATION OF CIVIL DEFENCE OFFICES BY THE STATE COMMANDANT ACROSS OGUN AND COURTESY CALL ON THE OMOLA OF IMALA.
The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Mr Kolawole Taiwo, paid a courtesy call to the Omola of Imala Kingdom, Alayeluwa HRM (Oba) Moses Adelani Adegboyega Olabode (mni).
According to the statement by the State spokesman, Dyke Ogbonnaya said the State Commandant visited the community with the aim of extending access of the community to the officers and men of the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) of the command to forestall incessant kidnapping, arms banditry and other vices around those environs.
The Alayeluwa commended the State Commandant for the gesture at protecting lives and property of the grassroot communities and their immediate surroundings.
Responding to him, the State Commandant stated that “It is the initiative and mandate of the Corps as handed down by the Corps Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi (PhD, mni) on all the state Command’s to clamp down on all forms of vices capable of hindering growth and development across the nation”.
He added, “This is our reason for being here, as security agencies and it is very expedient that we also do justice whatever assignment that is in the interest of peace and security in our various jurisdictions and even beyond”.
The Omola promised to give all necessary supports to the State Command in order to make this laudable dream come true. He further prayed for God’s guidance for the commandant to achieve his mandates in Ogun State.
