Armed Robbery; Governor Sanwo-Olu directs CP Hakeem Odumosu to mobilize Police officers to Lagos-Ibadan expressway and its environs.

Before the Eid-el-kabir celebration, Lagos State  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, July 19, orders Lagos State  Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumosu to deploy Police officers to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and its environs.

The reason for the decision is to make sure that the highways as well as human lives and properties are safe and secured.

As several Muslim faithful are expected to travel during the festive period, there is bound to be some sort of traffic grid lock in the Lagos-Ibadan expressway from time to time.

According to the Lagos state government, the decision became necessary in cases of traffic robbers who will use it as an advantage to rob people of their valuables.

In a Press Release, the Commissioner of Police said that 20 newly launched motorbikes have already been deployed to strategic areas to forestall any possible crime and outbreak of law and order.

Meantime, at 12 noon, Monday, armed Policemen, led by Rapid Response Team RRT, Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, Yinka Egbeyemi, were seen positioned at strategic points maintaining law and order on the road performing the duties of traffic officers.
