The Operatives of F-SWAT/FCIID Adeniji Adele Annex, Lagos has arraigned two suspects, Peter Mene M, 20 years, Emeka Agaba M,19 years before the Magistrate court at Igbosere, Lagos, Magistrate O A Aminu on 16th of April 2024.

The suspects were arrested on the 20th of March 2024, for Conspiracy,  kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Threat to Life and Stealing. Peter Mene M, 20 years, Emeka Agaba M,19 years.

The suspects belong to a five men robbery gang that have been terrorizing Apapa,Trinity and Ajegunle area of Lagos State of which their gang leader’s name was said to be Musa.

The two suspects were nabbed in different locations at Ajegunle. Both confessed that they usually attack and rob their victims with cutlasses and other weapons.

The Prosecutor, A O Fadipe said the  complainant, Mr Ndubuisi Nwoke M’ reported the case on the 13th of February, 2024 about 21:30 hrs, himself and his three apprentices were robbed by unknown gunmen at his house, Olowoyenyeye street Ajegunle, Lagos.

The suspects carted away with his Itel phone valued ninety- five thousand (N95,000.00) naira, food items and  uncalcuted money. The  Complainant  further alleged that the Itel phone with contact No. 09114352278 is being used by the gunmen to threatened him and demanded the sum of ten million naira from him or else they will kidnap him and eliminate his entire family by all means. The suspects also threatened to put him in total disarray as they bombarded him with constant calls day and night.

The presiding Magistrate, A O Aminu  charged the defendants, Peter Mene M, 20 years, Emeka Agaba M,19 years with four counts charges.

I.’That they both conspired amongst themselves to commit felony robbed Mr Ndubuisi Nwoke of his itel phone valued for Ninety-five thousands Naira (N95, 000.00) some tubers of yam, uncalculated amount of money at gunpoint, thereby commited an offence Punishable under section 299 of the criminal laws of Lagos State  Nigeria 2015.

II. “That you Peter Mene M, 20 years, Emeka Agaba M,19 years and other at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to rob Mr Ndubuisi Nwoke and three of his apprentices at gunpoint, hereby committed an offence punishable under section 411 of the criminal laws of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.

III.’That you Peter Mene M, 20 years, Emeka Agaba M,19 years and other at large on the same date, time and place  in the aforementioned while armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons did attempt to rob Mr Ndubuisi Nwoke M, Chukwudi Abuka, Ifeabuchi and Tochukwu of their valuables Properties with the use of actual violence and thereby commited an offence punishable under section 298 of the criminal laws of Lagos State Nigeria, 2015.

IV. “That you Peter Mene M, 20 years, Emeka Agaba M,19 years and others at large on the time date and place  in the aforementioned while armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons did attempted to rob Mr Ndubuisi of uncalculated money, three tubers of yam valued eighteen thousand naira (N18,000), one itel Android  phone, valued Ninety- five thousand, thereby commited an offence punishable under section 296 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015”.

Robbery is punishable under Section 299 criminal law of Lagos State. The  Application for remand of Peter Mene Emeka Agaba at the prison custody, pending DPP legal advice was filed on the I6th April, 2024.

The hearing of the case was adjourned to 4th of June 2024.
