Inspector-General of Police Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has directed a comprehensive investigation into allegations about police pensioners’ welfare and retirement benefits, as highlighted in a viral video by a retired Superintendent of Police. NPF Pensions Limited has been tasked to review the claims, identify potential lapses, and take corrective action.

According to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, the Nigeria Police Force acknowledges the sacrifices of its pensioners who dedicated their lives to national service. The Inspector-General of Police emphasizes that the welfare of both serving and retired officers is a top priority, recognizing the importance of timely and adequate pension administration in maintaining morale and institutional integrity.

While efforts have consistently been made to improve the pension system, the IGP acknowledges the importance of constructive feedback in prompting necessary reforms.
