Area M Police Command Hosts Stakeholders’ Meeting for LG elections

In anticipation of the upcoming local government elections, the Area M Police Command in Lagos convened a stakeholders’ meeting with community leaders, residents, DPOs, and other relevant groups to promote peaceful elections in Alimosho Local Government Area.

Police Commitment to Peaceful Elections

The meeting aimed to promote collaboration and confidence among residents, highlighting the police command’s dedication to maintaining peace, order, and fairness throughout the electoral process. Area Commander ACP Tokunbo Abaniwonda assured that the command is fully prepared to ensure a secure and violence-free election.

Enhanced Security Measures for Alimosho Elections

Given Alimosho’s status as Nigeria’s most populous local government area, the police command recognizes the unique security challenges it poses. However, under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Dr. Olukayode Egbetokun and Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh Moshood, the command has implemented robust measures to protect lives, property, and the electoral process.

Police Urge Stakeholders to Promote Peace

The police called on stakeholders to avoid disruptive activities and ensure a smooth election process. Residents were also asked to champion peace, serving as a model for other areas to replicate during future elections.

Tackling Cultism and to Host Anti-Cultism campaign Alimosho

Recognizing cultism as a significant challenge, the Area Commander revealed plans for an intensive awareness campaign led by ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, POCACOV’s National Coordinator. The campaign will target youths and residents, highlighting the dangers of cult-related activities and promoting a safer community.

The campaign will educate youths and residents about the risks and consequences of cultism and other social vices, aiming to prevent involvement and promote a safer community.
