OGUN NEW STATE COMMANDANT HELD STRATEGIC MEETING WITH SOME STAKEHOLDERS AHEAD OF THE FORMAL COURTESY VISITS.

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant Niyi Liad Ajibola, met with the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (CFR), the OKUKENU IV, in his Ake Palace on July 7, 2022 to intimate him on his assumption of office and the continuation of an enhanced security alongside other services in the State.

In a statement signed by the State spokesman, Dyke Ogbonnaya stated that  the State Commandant informed the paramount ruler of the visions and missions of the Commandant General of the Corps, AA Audi (PhD, mni), especially his dream of a secured and protected Nigeria for all and sundry in and around the Gateway State.

The Alake thanked the State Commandant for deeming it fit to pay him this first informal visit while also praying for his success in the State.

He also noted that he would expect the State Commandant in the formal visit which will come up very soon and he also prayed for the State Commandant’s success in the State especially in his business of ensuring a people-centred security in Ogun State.

In the same vein, he promised the State Commandant his unalloyed support and assistance whenever such is sort for. He also charged the State Commandant and his command to do their utmost best at taming the insecurity ravaging the system.

He noted that the command should bridge the gap on the ratio between the people and the presence of security officers in the State as this has remained a dilemma to him as a royal father.

In his response, the State Commandant stated that “There’s no gainsaying that insecurity is with us as a people but promised to bring his wealth of experience alongside collaboration with other security agencies to bring succour and protection across the length and breadth of the State”.

The State Commandant also visited the Brigade Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, Brigadier General IM Abdullahi, in his office to inform him of his presence in the State while also pledging his total support and allegiance in the protection of the lives and property of the people and other lawful inhabitants of the State.

The two helmsmen rode down memory lane in the areas of security management and possibility of reducing threats across the State and to also reduce the tension amongst the ranks and files in the system as the security work is all about bringing purposefulness and safety in the areas of welfare and security to the generality of the people in the State.
