The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, Commandant Eweka Douglas Okoro, on Friday, 27th August, 2021, at night, was honoured with the distinguished honorary membership award at the Ikeja Club, situated at 23, Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos.

In a statement by the PRO, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Seun Abolurin noted that the Commandant was graciously selected and invited by the Ikeja Club to receive the distinguished honorary membership award, on the Club’s 55th Anniversary Celebration and 2021 Induction of New Members, which had historically and remarkably, at the occasion, the able presence of the Former President of Nigeria and Eminent Elder Statesman, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, as the father of the day and awardee.

Commandant Eweka was also honoured amidst several array of successful stars, professionals, entrepreneurs, public servants and accomplished iconic personalities, from different walks of life.

The Commandant was accompanied to the Club’s Anniversary, to receive the award, by his Special Adviser, Ilesanmi Dauda, (DSC) Tolani Lukman and (ASCI) Abolurin Oluwaseun, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.

Finally, the Commandant, seized the opportunity of the 55th Anniversary Celebration of Ikeja Club, to sincerely, appreciate the President of the Club, Chief Ayo Randle and the organising and planning committee of the event, for his invitation and selection for such an award at this significant time, in the annals of our nation’s history.

The Commandant avowed his unflinching commitment to improve security in Lagos State and to ensuring that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, will also continue to improve upon the existing and laudable security architecture of the state, by synergesing with the military, Police, security agencies and all relevant stakeholders and the good people of the state, to ensure quality delivery of optimal safety, protection and security of lives and property.
