LAGOS UBER DRIVER ATTACK: POLICE ARREST 2 SUSPECTS, RECOVER CAR.

The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested two suspected armed robbers who attacked one Uber driver named Utibe on Sunday 20th September, 2020, at 11.30 pm, and snatched his Toyota Corolla car with number plate LND 448 GH at Abijo GRA, Ibeju Lekki.The two suspects are Okem Monday age 26 and Lawrance Daniel age 20.

According to the statement released and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command Ikeja, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Area Commander Area J, Ajah, acting on distress call, dispatched a team to the scene and traced the snatched car to Mayfair Garden, Ibeju Lekki. He said the suspects were arrested at the Mayfair Garden and the Uber driver was rescued and the car recovered.

The Police spokesman added that the police also recovered one axe stained with blood, and one knife from the suspects.The driver, who was seriously injured, he said “is receiving treatment at a hospital within Lagos and recuperating.”

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered for discreet investigation into the case. He however   warned “those who are planning to engage in criminal acts or have been involved in one crime or the other to desist and flee Lagos State or else, they will meet their waterloo in no time.”
